Covid-19 suspects question conviction of CD testing lab

Srinagar, June 9, KNT: A couple of patients have raised questions over the conviction and rectitude of Microbiology Department at Chest Disease Hospital, Srinagar, alleging that most of their reports about Covid-19 suspects are questionable.
A patient who is admitted at Rainawari Hospital told news agency KNT that his samples were taken on 2 June and on 5 June, the testing lab at CD Hospital declared him positive
The patient who hails from Narwara Eidgah area of Srinagar said that on June 8, he was declared negative for Covid-19 infection. “I was shocked and wanted to know how it happened. I was told that some samples in the lab were misplaced by the staff and now when his sample was found, it tested negative,” he said.

“I don’t know how two samples of the same person can be found first positive and then negative. Either they conduct tests in a casual way, without taking them seriously or they declare the results without any testing,” he said.

“If my samples were lost, how come they declared me positive,” he said.
A couple of persons said that at CD Hospital they were tested and declared positive and the same samples when tested at a private lab in Srinagar turn out negative. “When we raised questions, we were discharged from the hospital and asked to go for home quarantine,” they said.
Earlier, Covid-suspects at GMC Anantnag had also alleged that all the samples taken from them were misplaced at CD Hospital lab. Samples were again taken from those suspects after their protest. (KNT)
