Admin realizes fine from erring traders in Ganderbal



Ganderbal, June 08 (KNO): Authorities in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district have intensified drive to check food adulteration, hoarding of commodities especially of chicken, mutton and other violations in the district.

An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a team headed by Assistant Director Food, Naseer Ahmad Baba along with other officials of the department conducted market checking in Ganderbal town and realized fine from the erring shopkeepers.

The official said that the team constituted on the directions of deputy commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal inspected various food establishments including bakery shops, fruit and vegetable shops, chicken shops, and mutton shops.

He said AD Food impressed upon all the shopkeepers to ensure that social distancing is maintained, masks are used by one and all besides to ensure sanitizers are being used by the customers and the staff as well.

“The erring shopkeepers especially for not displaying rate list, un-hygienic condition, rotten fruits, and vegetables were fined on spot.”

The official said the shopkeepers were advised to display the rate list on the conspicuous place of their shops and restrain from overcharging and in case of any violation, action will be taken against the erring shopkeepers—(KNO)
