Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar raised issue of stranded Ganderbal residents with LG G C Murmu.

Sought their immediate return to their homes before Eid.

SRINAGAR :National Conference Senior Leader and former MLA from Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar today telephonically raised the issue of stranded people of J&K especially of Ganderbal district and demanded the safe evacuation of these stranded students, labourers, traders, patients and others before Eid.

He referred to the pitiable condition of Ganderbal residents especially of Waliwar area who were on a religious travel and are stuck up in Saharanpour from last two months and have completed their quarantine period. Ishfaq demands  safe evacuation of these and other stranded people on a war-footing.

Mr Jabbar said that it is an undisputed fact that not all stranded people are getting enough food, medicine and other essential items of daily use with a vast majority having become cash starved and even shelter less," he said.

With patience of such stranded persons and work force fast running out, the situation could take an ugly turn if not handled appropriately, the NC leader added.

Jabbar also shared that since the lockdown, he has been flooded with messages, calls from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Delhi,Uttarakhand and other parts of the country where many Kashmiris are stuck.

LG G C Murmu assured Jabbar that Govt is working hard to facilitate all and  are reaching out to all the stranded people but people need to be patient.

Sheikh Ishfaq thanked Governor Administration, Nodal Officers ( Commissioner Secretaries) particularly Shri Talat Parvaiz, Sarmad Hafeez, Zubair Ahmad and Police Cell J&K at Delhi for their commendable Job and support.

Meanwhile the students of Ganderbal district who were stuck in Assam  have expressed their gratitude to former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar.

Thanking former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar and Assam government for helping them , Mudasir a student said a total of 12 Kashmiri students were provided permission to go to their native places in Jammu and Kashmir after the intervention of Sheikh Ishfaq the former MLA and now we have reached our native places.

The students said that Sheikh Ishfaq took up the matter with Assam administration which  provided them every possible help including ration but they wanted to go back to their homes and finally we were allowed.

"Thanks u so much sir as we all Ganderbal people have been evacuated from Guwathi Assam and we all have reached safely to our district".

We people will always stand with you God bless you sir.

The students who were stuck up include
Mehraj ud din Bhat,Imtiyaaz Ahmed, GH Nabi,Hilal Ahmad Malik, Zahoor Ahmed Dar, Yaseen Ahmad Dar, Shawqat Ahmed Wani, Asif Ali Shaikh, Sahil Ahmed Malik, Irshad Ahmed Dar, & Mudasir Ahmed Bhat.
