Lockdown rules should be followed strictly, says Ishfaq Jabbar

Jammu April 14: Senior National  Conference leader and former Union MLA from Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar on Tuesday said that as the PM of India Narinder Modi has  announced to extend the nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus scare till May 3, but some relief for the needy people is also required and demanded immediate shifting of J&K residents who are stranded in different parts of India since the COVID-19 lockdown was enforced in the country.

In a statement issued here, Jabbar said, the decision to extend the lockdown is to protect the people and all should cooperate with the government, but people in the unorganised sector staring at loss of livelihood, there is need to increase the working days under the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee scheme (MNREGA) from the existing 100 days to 150 days.
