Covid-19: Two more test positive in Kupwara, toll mounts to 25

Kupwara, Apr 15 (KNO): The total number of positive cases in north Kashmir's Kupwara district have mounted to 25 as two more contacts tested positive for novel Coronavirus.

Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), two more suspects under quarantine tested positive for coronavirus and belong to Andherhama village.

The officials said that both the positive cases are contacted of earlier positive patient  from Muqam Shahwali, while the area was already declared as red zone.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg told KNO that two more positive cases from red zone Anderhama, both contacts of earlier positive patient, adding that both are asymptomatic.

He said the preliminary contacts are being traced for quarantine and sampling, however no more positive case from any of the other red zone of the district.

As per the official figures available with KNO till date 82 FIRs have been registered against the violators for defying the prohibitory orders in wake of the COVID-19. Among the 25 positive cases 11 local residents are linked to Delhi Nizamuddin Markaz who were traced by the surveillance team, say officials.

After the administration designated the Sub District Hospital Kupwara as COVID-19 hospital for suspects and patients, the administration said it has engaged to local private run hospitals in different services to facilitate the general public.

The official figures suggest that a total of 7 areas in district have been declared as red zone and all the necessary protocol is being followed and it's ensuring all the essentials are available for the masses in the contained zones —(KNO)
