Bring Back Stranded Students : J&K Students Association

J&K Students Association, a Body of Kashmiri Students here on today demanded that Kashmiri students who returned from Iran, Bangladesh, Pakistan and had Completed their 28 days and 18 days respectively Quarantine period should be Brought home at an Earliest Possible time. In a Statement Spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami Urged Home Minister Amit Shah and LG GC Murmu to take Immediate measures and make special arrangements for the safe evacuation of Kashmiri Students stranded in Rajasthan and Punjab State who had Completed their Mandatory Quarantine time.

A statement issued to KNS , He said that there are hundreds of Students who are in different states of the country are facing hardships due to Lockdown and in these two states the students who were sent to the Quarantine Centres have Completed their Mandatory time and now they should be evacuated to their respective homes. He said that Students in Punjab despite completing 14 days quarantine period, all the students including girls, were tested and all the reports have come as negative but despite passing of a month, these students continue to remain in quarantine centre without any logic. Their co-passengers, from different Indian states, have all gone to home after completing their quarantine period, he added.

If Students from other states have reached home, why there is different treatment towards the Kashmiri students?, he asked. Due to the current situation and on going Lockdown, Students are unable to get back home but 29 other passengers (all from different states mainly Delhi, Goa & UP ) also crossed the border with them and were quarantined in the same place have been accepted by their states and have been safely transported to their respective residences. He urged LG GC Murmu to intervene and come to their rescue.

He urged Home Minister Amit Shah to make all possible efforts to rescue them at the earliest as students in these two states are in Mental Depression, anxiety & are worrying their parents in Kashmir Valley too. He said that Students who are stucked in Punjab and Rajasthan are desperately waiting for some mode of transportation to reach to their homes. Khuehami appealed the Home Minister to direct Concerned officials to act Swiftly and provide necessary assistance to J&K students stranded in Punjab, Rajasthan and to initiate their safe evacuation at an earliest.(KNS)
